Kristin Thurbide, Esq.
Principal Attorney, KMT LAW PC

Attorney Thurbide advocates for individuals in Massachusetts as an experienced civil litigation attorney with a demonstrated record of success in consumer protection litigation, as both plaintiff and defense counsel. Her expertise spans multiple practice areas including chapter 93A unfair and deceptive business practice claims, employment law and wage act violations, partition and quiet title actions, loan modifications, foreclosure defense and wrongful foreclosure actions, debt defense, and unfair debt collection practices actions. 

Kristin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management, and before embarking upon a legal career, worked in various roles in the financial services industry for 20 years. She earned her Juris Doctor degree and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2015. She has also been admitted to the federal District Court (Massachusetts) and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Kristin started her legal career first as a law clerk, then as an Associate Attorney at CULIK LAW PC before founding KMT LAW PC. 

She is an active member in both the Women’s Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association, where she has frequently volunteered her time for the “Dial-a-Lawyer” program and WBZ’s annual “Ask a Lawyer” initiative. Attorney Thurbide was recognized as one of Boston Magazine’s Top Lawyers of 2021.

When not advocating for her clients, Kristin is heavily involved in dog rescue through Paws New England, as a volunteer and foster parent. She has also served as a volunteer mentor for young adults who are aging out of foster care through the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.  Kristin is also a mentor through The Valedictorian Project, whose mission is to provide support, guidance and consistent mentorship to urban valedictorians as they transition to college life and beyond.

Marianne Poreda, Office Manager
KMT LAW PC

Marianne has over 25 years of experience in small business administration and management, predominantly in client-facing roles, and is the initial point of contact for clients at KMT LAW PC. Marianne lives in Duxbury with her husband and three children, where she has a long history as a very active volunteer in the schools and community. Marianne has served as Treasurer and Social Media Coordinator on the boards of the PTA and DHS Athletic Boosters, as program chair for various community service projects, and has collaborated on numerous fundraising campaigns for these efforts.

Since April 2020, she has been a volunteer coordinator for End Hunger NE & The Outreach Program in Pembroke, Massachusetts, and created a Sign-Up Genius to coordinate hundreds of volunteers to provide more than 4 million meals to families experiencing food insecurity during 2020 and 2021.
